What makes us different?

Have you ever had a contractor come out for an estimate and then never return your call? What about contractor that took the deposit and then just disappeared? How about the company who completed the job, but it was done incredibly half assed. I’ve personally been there and have countless stories of contractors who are just well… really annoying to deal with. The vison of our home wellness department is to take the same professionalism we have with our other departments like Chiropractic and apply it to everything construction. We believe the simpler the process, the easier it is to make financial decisions regarding those repairs & renovations. That’s why we’ve developed a rather unique approach to bridge some areas that are common points of frustration.

What to stay away from!

I’ve talked to many of our Chiropractic patients about things we might be doing throughout the year. Sometimes it’s been about opening the swimming pool or even getting new floorings. Sometimes though it’s not excitement about the project but the annoyance and frustration of the process usually due to a contractor that’s dropped the ball in some way. Below are common scenarios we’ve seen that we cringe when we hear about.

A Contractor should always be efficient at communicating directly with the client.

There’s nothing more annoying when you explain to the contractor or receptionist one things and then something completely different happens. Like installing tile in the wrong bathroom (real story), starting a project without every agreeing on a price (real story) or 25k of unexpected add ons that you never approved or new they were extras simply because the contractor under quoted you in the beginning (real story… again). I’ve been sued and had to sue contractors all because there was a breakdown in efficient communication. It’s a lot easier to avoid the BS that comes these easy to avoid scenarios. We want to make sure you can reach the contractor directly with questions or concerns and that everything is explained and considered before the project starts.

A Contractor should not make up excuses why the project is being delayed.

I’m sure this is no surprise that people lie. It’s a common practice in this field simply because there’s very little oversight and who’s holding the business owner accountable. We understand weather can delay work and there is such a thing as getting sick. However, when the project was supposed to start in April and it’s now August, there’s a problem. We don’t feel it’s fair to that companies treat this industry like the ER treats emergencies. You shouldn’t be pushed to then end simply because your project wasn’t the highest priority.

Don’t settle for cheap work!

If a contractor understands the vision and the price is agreed upon, the completed version should look like what was discussed… and not trash. There are details that the contractor should be familiar with that normally isn’t in the client’s wheelhouse of knowledge. There should be almost an OCD level of attention to detail that goes beyond what you possibly expect. Our foundation is great work for an affordable price. That’s what make us stand out in the years to come.
